"Fantasy" seems to be the most popular Polish monthly periodical dedicated to fantasy and science fiction literature. It was the first journal concentrating on such themes in Poland, and even in the whole eastern Europe, therefore it gained fans very quickly after its debut. The first editor in chief was Adam Hollanek, now ? Jakub Winiarski.}, abstract={"Fantasy" popularized fantasy genre. The monthly's issues brought stories, various writings or even entire novels both by Polish and foreign authors. Some articles on popular science could have been found there, too. The magazine has reached high popularity since the first number was printed. In 1990, when the publisher was changed and the name of the magazine was altered (as mentioned above), the periodical's overview got a considerable metamorphosis ? format, number of pages, and news section have been extended. Since 2003 more colourful pages have been added. Andrzej Sapkowski started his literary career here ? "The Witcher" ["Wiedźmin"] story appeared in 1986 (nr. 12). On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the magazine activity (2007) the Minister of Culture and National Heritage ? Michał Ujazdowski ? awarded the editorial board with "Gloria Artis" silver medal.
