 abstract={The text presents the results of research on press-related interpellations in the Legislative Sejm between 1919 and 1922, approached as a phenomenon situated ?between a question and an accusation?. The aim of the analysis is to demonstrate how interpellations concerning the press revealed the relationship between freedom of speech and practices of controlling the circulation of information during the first years of the Second Polish Republic. The author treats interpellations not only as parliamentary documents but also as instruments of political action and as elements of the public debate on the status of the press. The study employs a case-study approach, in which a single issue could be reconstructed on the basis of several interpellations, as well as content analysis and critical examination of archival sources.The article shows that the interpellations addressed a wide range of issues, including confiscations, military censorship, restrictions on distribution, limitations on journalists? access to information, and administrative regulations affecting the operation of the press. Particular attention is devoted to the structural pattern of interpellations, in which formal questions served as a form of rhetorical accusation directed at the executive authorities. Analysis of ministerial responses reveals the predominance of procedural and bureaucratic arguments, often aimed at neutralizing parliamentary criticism. In conclusion, the author argues that the government regarded press-related interpellations primarily as an element of political dispute rather than as an incentive to reform information policy. At the same time, interpellations retain considerable value as historical sources, enabling the study of conflicts, tensions, and communication strategies at the intersection of the press, parliament, and state administration.},
