 abstract={The purpose of the presented analysis is to show and interpret the use of words and expressions that determine the quality of interlocutors` statements to an arbitrator as the State Tribunal is. The research material covered a collection of documents, mainly forensic statements and witness testimony in a trial, published in the 1961 collective issue. It is clear that the basic argument to prove or refute a charge in a court case is to prove speech, testimony of untruth.},
 abstract={However, in the case of Gabriel Czechowicz it was not a question of determining the real fact of spending money without the consent of the Sejm, but about the interpretation of the powers of the Minister of Treasury and the scope of his responsibility. Political opponents and lawyers were not able to base their condemnation or defence on substantive arguments, so they resorted to artistic arguments. One of them was to determine the quality of communication behaviour of the participants in the dispute.},
 abstract={The discussion of the quality of speech was intertwined with the veracity of the generally understood conduct, and therefore the message focused on the values of autotelic truth and the rule of law, which were considered superior and indisputable. At the same time it was recognized that the behaviour in the dispute was reminiscent of fun, game or political struggle, which implied the unpredictability, irresponsibility and mercilessness of the participants in the dispute.},
 abstract={The two narrative strategies: talking about truth/falsehood and gravity/play were not contradictory, though they did not always work together. Broadcasters reacted creatively to the arguments and language choices of adversaries present in court, and even to their public out-of-court speeches, as evidenced by the expansion of the game theme.},
