Modlitewnik dla żołnierzy wyznania prawosławnego" ("Friend of the Soldier. Prayer book for Orthodox soldiers") (1937). On the basis of the selected text, an attempt was made to study the functioning of the military and religious communicative community and various ethnic communities in the Eastern Borderlands during the Second Polish Republic. Relations in these communities and between them, communicative needs against the backdrop of socio-political changes, institutions leading the communities and activists who played an important role in the publication of the Orthodox prayer book were described.}, abstract={The attention was paid to the factors determining language behaviour, the authority of the Church and the army, their impact on the choice of communicative methods and the importance in creating patterns of language behaviour. The presented short historical outline of the history of the Orthodox Church in the years 1918-1939 allowed to understand the goals, reasons and necessity of creating an Orthodox prayer book for soldiers before the beginning of World War II. It was created against the background of the rebirth of statehood during the Second Polish Republic, the Eastern Borderlands joining Poland together with a new ethnic and religious community, the male part of which joined the ranks of the Polish Army.}, abstract={It cannot be denied that the prayer book was created for the spiritual needs of Orthodox soldiers. The aim of the issue was also the moral, patriotic and spiritual upbringing of the soldier and shaping the ethics of combat and the ethos of the warrior, which was particularly important in pre-war times. However, the process of Polonization played a key role in the publication of the prayer book. The separation of the Polish Orthodox Church from the Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, obtaining the status of autocephaly and the cooperation of the heads of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church (PAOC) with the authorities were also of great importance.}, title={Wspólnota komunikatywna militarna odzwierciedlona w modlitewniku "Przyjaciel żołnierza.
