The data is obtained from a Polish monthly "Teraz Rock" and an American biweekly (currently monthly) "Rolling Stone". The study takes into account all issues published in 2015. The choice of material was dictated by the equally important role of music review in each of them (there is a separated department devoted exclusively to reviews in "Teraz Rock" and in "Rolling Stone").}, abstract={The objective of the research is to add to current knowledge of music reviews. The research questions are as follows: What is the taxonomy of music reviews in thematic magazines? What are the characteristic features of music reviews (regarding the structural aspect of the genre)? What is the communicative purpose of a music review, and who are the members of this communicative event (regarding the pragmatic aspect of the genre)? The theoretical framework of the research gives an overview of Polish genre studies and English genre studies.}, abstract={The Polish and Anglo-Saxon traditions emphasize the historical and cultural dimension of the genre, their specialization, communicative goals, and types of discourse. Next, the notion of reviews is discussed and a music review as a sub-genre is investigated. Wojtak`s methodology is applied in the practical part of the book. The research is narrowed down to two areas, i.e. structural and pragmatic. The analysis proves that numerous similarities can be found in the material under investigation (its structure and pragmatics).}, abstract={Yet, the differences are visible, too (mainly concerning the pragmatic area). Taken together, the work has some limitations. This is why further analysis (proposed in conclusion) should be conducted. Hopefully, this study provides a framework and useful tool for examining music reviews and fills in the gap in the literature. It may add to a growing body of Polish literature on contrastive approaches to genre analysis.}, type={książka}, title={Recenzja muzyczna jako gatunek wypowiedzi.
