It does so in a series of images, reviewing the history of the notion: the material, the palpable image of black bile, in antiquity, the moral and ascetic category of acedia in the Middle Ages and in the Baroque period, the drama of nostalgia in the age of Enlightenment and Romanticism, the quasi-strict notion of loss and bereavement in our contemporary culture, marked by the psychoanalytical paradigm.}, abstract={Passing through all these epochs or images, the description aims to grasp melancholy as a fundamental, existential attitude, a deep, although risky and ambiguous state of mind that enables us to take a deadly serious, but ironic stance towards the increasingly complex reality around us. An appeal to the philosophical universe of Kierkegaard and Heidegger is supposed to help in this endeavor.}, type={rozdział w książce}, title={Krajobrazy wyżu depresyjnego}, keywords={melancholia, żałoba, strata, strach, egzystencja, melancholy, fear, mourning, loss, existence}, }
