Abstract_pl:

Autor wykorzystuje postać Bartleby`ego do przemyślenia kultury uniwersytetu. Bartleby zostaje też skonfrontowany z Batemanem, który obrazuje ducha organizacji opartej na konkurencji. W artykule postawiono pytanie o możliwość nadziei i zmiany w mrocznych czasach. Utopijna wizja lepszych uniwersytetów i lepszego świata oparta została na zasadzie zbędności i nieproduktywności.

Abstract:

The author uses Melville?s Bartleby to rethink the university culture. Bartlebyis also confronted with Bateman, who exemplifies the spirit of an organisation driven by competition. The paper raises the question of the possibility of hope and change in dark times. The utopian vision of better universities and a better world is based on the principle of redundancy and unproductivity.
