A diagnostic survey was used as the study method; the technique employed was a questionnaire; and W.H. Fitts` Self-Concept Scale and a questionnaire on health behavior were used as research tools.`}, abstract={The study results confirm an essential regulatory role of the self-concept in undertaking health-related behaviors. The positive global indicator correlates positively with all the studied health behaviors. Within the self-concept structure, behavior self-assessment (W3) and identity (W1) correlate positively most frequently, and within the self-image content, the physical "I" and the moral-ethical "I". It must be emphasized that all the elements of the self-concept within both the structure and content show a statistically significant corre-lation with stress handling in the researched.}, abstract={Self-criticism correlated negatively, but not statistically significantly, with all the analyzed health behaviors, except for physical activity.
