@misc{Kulczycka_Dorota_Karol, author={Kulczycka, Dorota}, howpublished={online}, publisher={Zielona Góra: Oficyna Wydawnicza Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego}, language={pol}, abstract={John Paul II, like no other Pope before him, was an extremely media-savvy person. He liked and knew how to speak, felt comfortable among thousands of people gathered together, and loved people. He was so recognizable that writers, playwrights, and filmmakers introduced his character into their fictional worlds. John Paul II is, on various levels (e.g., in mockumentaries) and in various aspects, the protagonist of many films, not only documentaries, biographies, and religious films, but also feature films, especially dramas, comedies, and horror films, as well as series and sitcoms. His presence in literature and film has not always been a sign of valorization, respect, or - as in the case of Polish films - national pride.}, abstract={The author shows how attitudes toward the Pope changed over the decades until his death and in the years immediately following 2005. She points out that the valorization of this great Pole or the destruction of the Pope's good name (through the processes of de-wojtylization and de-johnpaulization, accusations of allegedly concealing the dark pages of the Church`s history, calls for de-canonization, etc.) depended and still depends on the individual choices of the creators. Although not all works could be included in the monograph, the book illustrates the scale of John Paul II`s popularity and his presence in epic literature, but above all in films and TV series.}, type={książka}, title={Karol Wojtyła - Jan Paweł II w ?lmie}, keywords={Jan Paweł II, papież (1929-2005), Wojtyła, Karol (1929-2005), literatura, film, serial, waloryzacja, dewojtalizacja, odjaniepawlenie, John Paul II, literature, TV series, valorization, de-wojtylization, de-johnpaulization}, }
