 abstract={In this study, various contexts (cultural - civilizational, social, philosophical, etc.) concerning the issue of the human body, which were reflected in historical scientific discourse, are presented. Observations are limited to the field of medicine, whose discourse, by its very nature, focuses on somatic issues. The acceptance of the thesis that it is valid to consider various contexts of scientific discourse determines the success of research on this communicative and cultural phenomenon. This is particularly important when observing the transformations of discourse, its dynamics associated with the specific eras in which it functioned.},
 abstract={For the historian of language, the primary obstacle and limitation is the lack of communicative competence of past centuries; therefore, it is necessary to consider the various contexts whose influence on a given discourse was decisive and often determined further stages of transformations. In this way, the discourse is also perceived as a sociological phenomenon in the Foucauldian sense, serving as a social instrument of knowledge-power - a key concept in describing cultural transformations. Such a semantic shade of the concept of discourse may thus prove useful for research on language and communication.},
