 abstract={The Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran is religiously oriented, with the Shi`a Islam incorporated since 1906, and particularly emphasized in the 1979 and 1989 revisions. Iran`s political system is a unique hybrid of theocracy and democratic elements, dominated by Sharia law. The Supreme Leader, representing the "welajat-e faqih", holds decisive political and legal authority.},
