 abstract={The publication concerns the crime novels by contemporary Polish writers, analysed in terms ofthe models of women?s identity and subjectivity. The author takes a closer look at literary patternsadopted by the aforementioned writers and attempts to decide whether they portray characters intheir books through borrowing a stereotypical character of a male detective (from a classic crimenovel), or whether they create entirely new and original female characters.},
 abstract={While analysing the selected texts, the author of the publication makes an attempt to identify the elements of patriarchal culture, to define how social phantasms are reflected and how cultural and, most of all, pop cultural cliches are used in them. Last but not least, the literature review undertaken by the author has a gynocritical dimension and places emphasis on the specificity of female experiences both in a given text and in the tradition of crime fiction.},
