 abstract={The subject of the research is the Encyclical "Dives in misericordia" of 1980 by John Paul II. The main objective of the study was to define the meaning of the concept "mercy" through the description of the phrases where this lexeme was used as well as to define what the Christian profile of this concept is based on. In both the quantity and quality analysis, the method of linguistic image of the world was applied as well as the cognitive method of description of sentences as "schemes of events".},
 abstract={The analysis revealed that this word appears in the encyclical 203 times and is the most frequently combined with verbs (the most expressions: "experience mercy", "show mercy"), then with nouns (the most expressions: "God`s mercy", "revelation of mercy") and adjectives ("Divine mercy"). It is the name of the very person of God and his attribute.},
 abstract={Nevertheless, it is, above all, the name of the way and style of God`s influence on human. It also defines the pattern of interpersonal relationships and actions. This concept was analysed in the context of concepts such as: love, justice, suffering, interpersonal relationships. Simultaneously, in the background, this study was aimed to reveal the person of John Paul II himself as a philologist with linguistic inclinations.},
