PB - Zielona Góra: Oficyna Wydawnicza Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego N2 - The article presents the transformations which took place after 1918 in the German-Czechoslovak relations, including - in particular - Olomouc, the so-called language enclave, that is an area inhabited to a large extent by population of German origin. N2 - To the majority of Germans living in Olomouc the end of the First World War meant the end of their rule in the city, which had lasted a few centuries. The independence changed the city in many respects, including also economic and cultural ones, which brought about a feeling of threat among the German population. N2 - The problems of the nationalistic character, which got revealed in the Interwar period and which - as a result - led to the German-Czechoslovak conflict in 1938, were provoked by a series of factors, among others, not including the cultural and political differences of the German minority who constituted 30% of the inhabitants of Czechoslovakia.
