PB - Zielona Góra: Oficyna Wydawnicza Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego N2 - Examined were the properties of unburned waste rock on the mine spoil of the coal mine Piast in Nowa Ruda. Waste material was relatively ho-mogeneous in various parts of the spoil. It contained high amounts of skeleton and residual coal, and its pH was neutral or alkaline. The salinity was in the class 0, and Pb, Zn, and Cu concentrations were low. Those properties should not negatively affect the process of reclamation. PB - Zielona Góra: Oficyna Wydawnicza Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego N2 - In the upper part of the basin of Kłodnica river hydrographic conditions are shaped primarily by decades of mining activity, which contributes to the formation of flooding and fens in the river valley and its tributaries. N2 - The article presents impact of forecasted land area slump on the range and depth of floodplains created by the passage of hypothetical flood wave with probability of occurrence p = 0.2%, and thus the size of the flood hazard in this part of the basin. The floodplains were generated by simulation carried out on the developed two-dimensional model of the Kłodnica river using MIKE FLOOD software. PB - Zielona Góra: Oficyna Wydawnicza Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego N2 - This paper presents the impact of the content of the gas atmosphere on the concentration of carbon dioxide in flue gas based on literature review and numerical and analytical calculations. The obtained results were presented graphically and there was made a comparative analysis. The research results prove that the coal combustion in oxygen-enriched atmosphere leads to CO2 concentration in flue gas increase, what allows to its reduction by the sequestration. PB - Zielona Góra: Oficyna Wydawnicza Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego N2 - In order to evaluate usefulness of wastes for utilization it is necessary to use modern chemical testing methods. The proposed analytical system of the XRD-XRF-ICP-GC methods enables to conduct an examination of carboniferous waste rocks. The offered system of chemical testing is less time consuming and much more efficient. N2 - Within a reasonably short period of time, it allows to obtain information about mineralogical and chemical properties of the carboniferous waste rocks. In the paper application of such an integrated system has been illustrated with the examples drawn from the monitoring of the carboniferous wastes rocks from the "Bogdanka" coal mine. PB - Zielona Góra: Oficyna Wydawnicza Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego N2 - The surface areas requiring reclamation in Poland amounts 64,000 ha, of which, 44,000 ha are occupied by mining. The predominant reclaimed postmining use is forestery (60%). In the area of Upper Silesia, spoil heaps pose a threat to the environment, and they are often deposited on surfaces excluded from forest production. N2 - The majority of these reclaimed and afforested spoil heaps is transferred to the administration of The State Forests National Forest Holding (Lasy Państwowe). These areas are included into the Forest Management Plan andcontain characteristics of both forest sites and tree stands. N2 - The aim of this study was to analyze the area of forest reclamation, tree stand age, species composition and forest site classification on spoil heaps located in the Rybnik Forest Inspectorate. Findings show that in the analyzed area, surfaces excluded from forest production amounted 245.5 ha, and the surface of reclaimed area amounted 132.3 ha. N2 - The majority of these areas were defined as young, mixed coniferous forest sites (BMśw 53%). Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) is the predominant species (40%), dervived mostly from self-seeding andstands are in the first or second age class. The result of these studies can be important during silviculture planning and management for tree stands on reclaimed sites.
