PB - Choszczno: Ares Usługi Ewa Jabłońska N2 - The book is a result of my participation in the international EU project "Kozaki-Pyrzany. Polacy, Niemcy i Ukraińcy ? polifonia pamięci o migracjach przymusowych" (2011) in which I was responsible for managing a research team of linguistic and cultural specialists. A poem "Prolog wierszem pisany. Antoniego Pająka wspomnienie z Ziemi Złoczowskiej", analyzed and interpreted during the project, became an inspiration for this monograph. N2 - Subsequent chapters of the publication are filled with linguisticinterdisciplinary reflections on a retrospective migration of a regional poet of Pyrzany (West Poland lands) who due to the war was forced to leave his homeland, a village of Kozaki located in Ziemia Złoczowska in Podolia, forever. The Zolochiv lyrist?s longing and love for the irretrievably lost land of his childhood inspired him to immortalize the old local colour of his small Podolia-Zolochiv native land in his poetic "Wspomnienie". N2 - For that reason, the chapters of the study complementing one another present described and characterized:1) a phenomenon of the Polish Eastern Borderlands and Ziemia Złoczowska in Podolia; 2) Zolochiv macro world composed of the Zolochiv micro worlds: the town of Zolochiv, small village of Amrozy, old little manor Gorki, village of Łuka, village of Kozaki ? the small homeland of Antoni Pająk; 3) Zolochiv nature; 4) Zolochiv colouring; 5) Zolochiv historical events; 6) Zolochiv curiosities; 7) Zolochiv sacrum and sacralization; 8) Zolochiv idealization and mythologization; 9) the history of a little Antoś Pająk. N2 - Literary-cultural-historical conclusions result from interpretations of linguistic facts immortalized in the narrative poem. These are significant elements of a local colour of the small Zolochiv space filled with objects, people and phenomena: a) names of territorial-administrative units: "cyrkuł" (district of a city or a country in the Russian partition; precinct), "miasto" (town), "powiat" (Polish administrative unit similar to a county)?; N2 - b) names of estates of the realm, social groups and professional/occupational groups: "szlachta zagrodowa" (a large part of the nobility in the Polish?Lithuanian Commonwealth that grew poor; they had land and privileges but not subjects), "kmiecie" (rich peasants), "ekonom" (Polish high king?s official managing royal goods, demesne administration or folwarks)?; c) architectural names: "zamek" (castle), "drewniany dworek" (wooden manor), "kurne chaty" (traditional cottages/huts with a hole in the roof instead of a chimney)?; N2 - d) culinary names: "smaczny chleb" (tasty bread)," jaja" (eggs), "wielkanocne baby" (sweet yeast Easter cakes)?; e) lexis of nature: "polana" (glade), "krzak głogu" (hawthorn bush), "bydło" (cattle), "małe sikorki" (little tits), "pająk" (spider)?; f) lexis of colours: "białe brzozy" (white birches)," fiolet bzu" (elderberry violet), "żołć słońca" (sunny yellow)?; g) anthroponyms: "Hryćko", "Mykieta", "Wasyl"?; h) ethnonyms: "Kozacy" (Cossacks), "Ormianie" (Armenians), "Polacy" (the Polish people), "Rusini" (Ruthenians); N2 - i) toponyms: "Łuka", "Złoczow", "Amrozy", "Kozaki"?; j) heorthonyms: "Pańskie Zmartwychwstanie" ("Wielkanoc") (Resurrection Sunday, Easter), "Dzień Święty" ("Wigilia") (Holy Day, Christmas Eve). PB - Zielona Góra: Faculty of Economics and Management Press N2 - At the moment endogenous growth theory has become increasingly popular in the world of science, particularly in developed countries. This article aims to show, for lubuskie case, the needs and sense of applying this theory in the Polish regions. Due to the low level of economic development of many Polish regions, including Lubuskie, they are unable to growth in a comparable rate as regions in developed countries. This explains the economic divergence between polish regions and the highly developed regions of Europe and the World. Stimulating economic growth are insufficient in such cases, because of the weakness of the internal factors in regions. Therefore it is important to strengthen an external impulses to keepinternal development. It means that the endogenous growth theory is no reason to exist, in conditions of poor Polish regions. Focusing on the rational attitude in the management process may lead to creating an ideal image of the employee, who functions in a reality which is created by quantification and operationalisation. A dominant significance of quantitative knowledge means a domination of an unreal image of the person of an employee in the management process. This process may lead to a reification and primacy of the thing over the employee as a person, and therefore to omitting the various potentialities for activity of the subject, whose element is the reality in an organization and its environment. PB - Zielona Góra: Faculty of Economics and Management Press N2 - The paper notes the importance of the boundary concept in the organisation and management theory and practice and attempts at identifying the role of leaders in the organisation's boundary management processes. The starting point is the assumption that looking at an organisation as an open system which interacts with its environment validates a claim that an organisation's success depends on the efficiency of such interaction with the environment, taking place across boundaries, which means that boundaries are not unimportant, peripheral components of the organisation management system, but rather its critical constituents, determining the ability to correctly define the organisation's operations and behaviours of its stakeholders. This assumption required the consequent identification of the role of leadership in the boundary management processes. The paper discusses the role of leadership in the 21st century, the evolving competition paradigm, the impact of globalisation and diversity on corporate management, the role of organisational culture and management process transformation. The main reason for taking up the topic of formulating and implementing development strategies in higher education institutions is the growing demand for developing a model of designing and implementing strategies in entities of this type. The objective of the hereby paper is to analyze planning documents prepared for the selected territorial self-government units (four tourism oriented communes located in Lower Silesia region) in relation to strategic planning qualities identifi cation in particular communes and referring these qualities to the conditions of effective strategic planning (discussed in literature on public management). N2 - The conducted research results confirm that many strategic planning qualities, in the selected communes, may be responsible for lowering its effectiveness. The ones, which are mainly responsible for counteracting effective planning, are as follow: reducing SWOT analysis to just the method for listing strengths and weaknesses of communal development potential, as well as presenting only the opportunities and threats; the absence of new management tools and techniques application, including the scenario oriented method; uncritical transfer of patterns from strategies prepared for other communes and referring to planning documents more as the condition for obtaining external financing sources rather than an actual programme facilitating the accomplishment of developmental goals. PB - Zielona Góra: Faculty of Economics and Management Press N2 - The multitude of tasks and problem issued faced by local governments necessitates their evolution towards improvement of the existing organisational structures. Comparison of the existing organisational structures of various municipal offices could create a misleading that their organizational structures do not undergo any transformations. In reality, the type of an organisational structure remains unchanged while its elements change very frequently. These changes are activated when, according to the office management, they do not ensure proper performance of tasks faced by local government administration and appropriate customer service. N2 - Also note that, in the applied solutions, there is a strive for perfection which can be noticed, in a sense. It expresses the concept that this is not a structure which can effectively play its role today and is prepared for challenges of tomorrow. However, the process of transformations has not developed any new solutions. To this end, the local government must develop organisational structures appropriate for identifying and reaching its objectives. For this reason, it's worthwhile to consider solutions which combine elements of the existing and modern solutions or address new opportunities created by process-oriented structures. N2 - However, these transformations must, first and foremost, cause a transformation of bureaucratic-style municipal offices into modern organisations which apply modern methods of management. These are organisations which introduce deep-reaching organisational changes, i.e. transform their hierarchic interorganisational relations into more partner relations and transform their structural solutions into more flexible solutions as well as change their employees' way of thinking. Without such transformations in local government, municipal offices will be still referred to as bureaucracy and civil servants as bureaucrats. PB - Zielona Góra: Faculty of Economics and Management Press N2 - The basic goal behind any action undertaken in an organization management is the will to achieve success. Key (or critical) success factors are the organization's resources, competence and qualification that create its competitive advantage on a particular market at a given time, and are able to determine its possible future success. The aim of this article is to identify key success factors of the social service organizations in the public sector. N2 - The analysis of the overall evaluation of the distinct areas for an organization's future success (calculated as the mean of each respondent?s rating of the items in the areas) demonstrated that, according to the respondents, staff competence is the most important. This area's mean rating amounted to 6.27 points in a seven-point scale. It should be stressed that the diversification of the items' rating in the area was relatively low, with the standard deviation being 0.76 points. N2 - Such a value indicates that the respondents were rather unanimous in their evaluation of staff competence as of the utmost importance to an organization's success. The items which weigh to an organization's future success was rated very highly, at over 6 points, were service quality (mean: 6.07 points) and teamwork (mean: 6.07 points). Also the average score of funds accessibility amounted to 6 points. According to the respondents, the items of the least importance to an organization's future success proved to be terms of employment (mean: 5.18 points) and inter-organizational cooperation (mean: 5.66). N2 - However, it needs to be emphasis should be put on the fact that the respondents evaluated all the areas of the research as important, and the differences between the ratings of particular areas were relatively minor. Moreover, the diversification of these ratings might be described as little, as reflected in the values of standard variations that do not exceed 1 point, and in moderate values of range. PB - Zielona Góra: Faculty of Economics and Management Press N2 - The identification and analysis of value chains is a way to find the sources of an organization's in-/efficiency, and an opportunity to explore how an organization is managed. Having in mind that an "organization network" is a form similar, in its functioning, to a separate organization, one may, using the value chain concept, investigate the management of local activity programmes, as of the networks they are. The researched partnerships introduced a management innovation, in that the social service provision organizations were brought together to form one chain.
