Streszczenie:

Autorka porusza następujący temat: jak wspomniani w tytule autorzy balansują pomiędzy wewnętrznym nakazem mówienia prawdy o wydarzeniach kresowych z czasów II wojny światowej a neutralizacją niepożądanych uczuć, jakie prawda może wywołać w czytelnikach. W pierwszej kolejności autorka omawia imperatyw ożywienia pamięci, by następnie wspomnieć i pokrótce omówić dziesięć sposobów łagodzenia traumy.

Abstract:

The Author raises the following subject: how the authors, mentioned in the title, balance between the inner command to tell the truth about the borderland events from the time of World War II and the neutralisation of the undesired feelings, which might be evoked by this truth in the readers. ; Firstly, the Author discusses the imperative of reviving the memory (thematised especially by Stanisław Srokowski), to subsequently mention and briefly discuss ten means of assuaging the trauma. They are most frequently connected with the aesthetic qualities (especially noticeable in Wojciech Wencel`s works) and ethical qualities. These means seem immensely important - in some sense they restore the dignity of the murdered; they teach love, compassion and prevent it from being forgotten.
