Abstract:According to statistical data, both, preschool children and staff spend more than 90% of their time inside school buildings. The quality of physical and chemical parameters of indoor air in preschool buildings can have either a beneficial or adverse effect on children`s health and may facilitate or impede effective teaching, thus contributing to or limiting the potential of young people. ; The aim of the present study was to analyse carbon dioxide, the primary indoor air pollutant, and assess its impact on the health and well-being of individuals occupying kindergarten classrooms. The investigated kindergarten is located in the eastern part of Lodz. Furthermore, to examine the relationship between classroom air quality and children`s health and cognitive performance, a questionnaire concerning a subjective assessment of air indoor quality in the kindergarten was conducted.
