Streszczenie: W artykule zaprezentowano, w jaki sposób polscy leksykografowie przedstawiają nazwę wiosennego kwiatu "fiołka", jaka jest geneza tego określenia i jak w ujęciu słownikowym wyglądają dzieje tej nazwy w polszczyźnie. Ograniczono się do obrazu zarysowanego w słownikach etymologicznych języka polskiego oraz w słownikach ogólnych polszczyzny, zarówno historycznych, dawnych, jak i współczesnych. ; Nazwa "fiołek" pojawiła się w polszczyźnie w XV w. i przetrwała bez większych zmian do dzisiaj. Według leksykografów dawniej, a w gwarach do dzisiaj, możliwe były także inne warianty fonetyczne i rodzajowe nazwy rośliny.
Abstract:
The article discusses the way in which Polish lexicographers present the name of the spring flower "violet", what the origin of this term was, what the history of this name in the Polish language was. The study, which is based on the analysis of dictionaries, is limited to the picture delineated in the etymological dictionaries of the Polish language and in the dictionaries of general Polish, both historical and contemporary. ; The name "violet" first appeared in the Polish language in the 15th century and has been preserved without major alterations until today. According to lexicographers, in the past, and in dialects until present day, also other phonetical and gender-specific variations of "violet" were admitted.
