Education in Glogau employed drew on a couple of education models like elsewhere in Europe. Of paramount importance was still the knight's model and, consequently, the exaggerated stress on the merits of knighthood. Characteristically, the deceased were shown in armour, even if during their lifetime they did not go nowhere near it and the knight's gear became more of an artistic masterpiece meant to serve representative purposes. ; A different model was favoured by the Jagiellonian and Habsburg courrs w he re a number of Glogauyouth could be found. Elegance and worldliness could also be learnt at the courts of Silesian dukes - where also employment, contacts and protection could be sought. They functioned, besides the Western European universities, as the centres of humanist culture which quickly caught on in Silesia. ; The Duchy of Glogau's gentry had contacts with the political-cultural centres of the Central Europe. Travels were a means of nurturing contacts, improving education, and making friends. The third model, gradually winning the hearts of the Renaissance gentry, was that of a landed nobleman. The skills involved in the husbandry, though stretching the then gentry's economic activities, made the gentry get into the swing of running their own farms. Each of the models was filled with a sense of trust in God and divine principles.
