Dolański, Dariusz (1966 - ) - red.
This article raises the issue of attitude that Polish communist authorities had towards the ecclesiasticalcelebrations of the Polish millennium. It is based on the press of western territories, i. c. "Gazeta Robotnicza'' and "Słowo Polskie" from Wrocław and "Gazeta Zielonogórska" from Zielona Góra. The article debunks the propaganda activities undertaken by the communist in order to discredit the Catholic Church in the eyes of the Polish Society. ; That is why newspapers being platforms for Regional Committees of Polish United Workers' Party were taken into consideration while conducting the above-mentioned analysis. Chronologically, these issues contain the beginning of the year 1966. ; That is when, due to the memorable Address to the German bishops, the propaganda campaign begun to apply to the program of church celebrations of a millennial anniversary of Polish country's existence. This article concentrates on the course and means of the influence that the propaganda had on the consciousness of the Polish nation until t he moment of its gradual fading, i. c. t he end o f July 1966.
